Glimmers of Grace: Moments of Peace and Healing Following Sexual Abuse In this episode of the Ruth Institute Podcast, we are delighted to listen in to Johnette Williams show, Women of Grace on EWTN. Faith Hakesley, author of the book, Glimmers of Grace: Moments of Peace and Healing Following Sexual Abuse and associate of the Ruth Institute shares with us very helpful insights on healing after sexual abuse. Many of today are wounded from the Sexual Revolution and today we have the chance to hear from one of Ruth Institute’s experts on what to do after being sexually abused. Hakesley tells us that healing is not linear and not typical. It is life-long and may pop up again in the future and may need to be handled differently at different times in life. But that is okay, because God has glimmers of grace in store for the suffering soul. Glimmers of grace from God are opportunities, moments or events that God sends or causes that allows the soul to taste peace even if for a moment. They are unique to the individual and are helpful to souls suffering from abuse. Glimmers of grace lead to gratitude for what you already have, and Hakesley insists that this is an important component of any healing process: gratitude! Suffering, as Hakesley astutely points out, is a result of original sin, and we do not live in a perfect world. “Jesus never promised we would never suffer; He promised He would be with us forever and that He would suffer with us… even though sometimes we may not feel His presence.” Hakesley adds, “trauma rewires the brain – [after trauma there is a] need to retrain the brain to view the world [correctly].” Hakelsey also points out the difference between a victim and a survivor, which impacts a person’s self-worth and identity. You will want to hear her wise words on how to stop being a victim and how to truly live (survivor). Continue listening to get the full story.

In this episode of the Ruth Institute Podcast, we are delighted to listen in to Johnette Williams show, Women of Grace on EWTN. Faith Hakesley, author of the book, Glimmers of Grace: Moments of Peace and Healing Following Sexual Abuse and associate of the Ruth Institute shares with us her journey to healing she embarked on following the sexual abuse she suffered at the hands of her priest. Hakesley tells us that because her attacker was a priest her path to healing had particular obstacles. She explains that religious faith is often an important tool in the healing process of a victim but that in the special cases where the abuser is a representative of faith, such as a priest, the victim feels betrayed by the faith and the religious structure involved. There is a difficulty in keeping the faith because the abuse is no longer only sexual but is also spiritual, an intensifier of the pain. Though this abuse left her a wounded Faith, her name and her religious belief, a nobler hope was born by the wonders of God’s grace. Hakesley briefly touches on how seemingly innocent signs of grooming she experienced suddenly led to an attack that lasted for some considerable time. In this dark place of pain and agony, she began to hate God. And everything unraveled when her brother died unexpectedly and she found herself in the office of a bereavement counselor. In the very first meeting, a glimmer of grace shone, and she found the courage to speak up of the abuse she had suffered. Now carrying the cross of two separate traumas, she tells her parents and begins the arduous process of healing. Friends, please continue listening to hear the beautiful story that Faith Hakesley tells, a story that there is hope and healing after sexual abuse. |

Children Need Their Parents!
In this episode of the Ruth Institute Podcast, we tune in to Dr. Mark Rollo’s wonderful interview with Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse on his show, First Do No Harm. You will hear these two engaging speakers discuss her book The Sexual State: How Elite Ideologies are Destroying Lives and Why the Church Was Right All Along Dr. Morse tells Dr. Rollo of how she transitioned from a seemingly tranquil life as an economics teacher at Yale to a defender of the family and founder of the Ruth Institute. She tells of the adoption of her son from a Romanian orphanage and the birth of her daughter which led to her having two children in less than six months. This abrupt change in life taught her many things, but most importantly, that children need their parents. Dr. Morse expounds on three of Ruth Institute’s core values, near and dear to all of us who work with her: Firstly, that all people have the right to know their cultural heritage and genetic identity. Secondly, that every child has a right to a relationship with his or her natural mother and father, except for an unavoidable tragedy. And thirdly, that we reject the idea that a child is a problem to solve if you don’t want one and an object to purchase if you do want one. She explains that these are natural principles that arise from simply considering the perspective of the child in society as opposed to the adults needs and wants. Dr. Morse laments that society treats adults as weak beings who will be crushed if they don’t get what they want and yet views children as strong, resilient youths who will quickly rebound from divorce and other traumas. The end result: adults get what they want while the child’s rights are denied. Continue listening to hear the facts.

Mr. Don Feder highlights that one of the darkest trials awaiting the human race is Demographic Winter: the worldwide decline in birthrates and the impending catastrophes that this will cause. He explains that the Japanese, having one of the lowest fertility rates in the world, has coined the term “lonely-death” to describe the phenomenon of persons dying without any living relatives to mourn or bury them. Japan has developed an industry to address this problem of humanely disposing ‘lonely’ corpses. Feder warns that we are heading for “terra incognito” unknown land where we do not even know what this implosion of population will cause. Nevertheless, Feder offers sage advice: marriage is the answer to Demographic Winter! Generally, where there are marriages there are babies. The worldwide marriage rate has declined more than the fertility rate and if the marriage issue is mended then perhaps the coming demographic crisis can be averted. Feder even offers a second answer to the coming Demographic Winter, but you will have to continue listening to hear him tell you. Be sure to get the full story!

President Biden’s Equality Act: The Cost is Childhood
Originally published March 3, 2022, by Issues, Etc. Republished April 26th, 2022 by Ruth Institute.
In today’s episode of the Ruth Institute Podcast, we tune in to Issues, etc. Dr. Erin Brewer, cofounder of Advocates Protecting Children and author of the books, Always Erin and Trans-ing Our Children speaks of President Biden’s Equality Act which will force LGBT issues on children. Dr. Brewer is a close friend of the Ruth Institute and has been featured on Ruth Institute’s Dr. J Show multiple times and was invited to speak at last year’s Summit for Survivors in Lake Charles. Dr. Brewer explains that Biden’s push for accepting people, so called, “born in the wrong body” seems almost as if a religion to him. She gets into some of the gory details of what these gender-confused youths experience by taking cross-sex hormones, mutilating their bodies, and never being happy with their self-image. Because of their age, they retard their natural development and don’t reach the fullness of growth which manifests in adulthood. Dr. Brewer explains that President Biden’s Equality Act will make Sexual Orientation Change Efforts (SOCE), illegal, fund transition interventions, and require doctors to participate in them, which necessarily will be a curb on the religious freedom of healthcare professionals. It will allow men to infiltrate women sports and not only dominate them in the arena but also in the bathrooms. There is a big danger here. Continue listening to get the scoop!

In this episode of the Ruth Institute Podcast, we tune in to Fr. Rob Jack’s show on Sacred Heart Radio, Driving Home the Faith. Here he interviews Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse. They discuss many hot button topics that you are sure to want to hear. Of note, they consider the recent confirmation of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court and the irony of her appointment: President Biden announced he’d be appointing a woman, but the woman he appointed can’t even define what a woman is. Dr. Morse offers for our consideration Justice Jackson’s previous track record on child pornography and the exporters of it. You’ll probably not hear about that one in the news so be sure to hear Dr. Morse talk about this. Dr. Morse explains how a redefinition of childhood had to take place in order for the Sexual Revolution to advance its agenda of separating sex from babies and consequently babies from parents and marriage. Dr. Morse asks from where our basic human rights come, because if it is not from God then it will necessarily come from the state as she hypothesizes Judge Jackson believes. Perhaps the greatest point that Dr. Morse makes in this episode is that ideological imperialism is the necessary evil of the Sexual State to achieve its end and Judge Jackson is the Sexual State in robe and gavel. Dr. Morse concludes with discussing with Fr. Rob Jack the recent gallup poll finding which may be the greatest evidence that shows that there is no gay gene and ‘born gay’ is scientifically untenable: epidemics of genetic illnesses do not exist. Dr. Morse discusses many various topics today including the striking down of the Women’s Reproductive Health Act in the senate, the U.S. trying to force abortions on the Dominican Republic, and the Kissinger-Nixon foreign policy. Dr. Morse highlights the destructive force of the “Population Bomb” myth which, unlike the short-lived success of the Ebola scare, successfully convinced people that there are too many people in the world. Dr. Morse explains that this idea has led to U.S. foreign aid often having “strings attached”: no U.S. aid if you don’t accept LGBT, etc., etc. She points to the Philippines as an example of this subversive maltreatment who are now being heavily pressured to accept ‘no-fault divorce’. Also, the recent happenings in Russia and Ukraine have not escaped Ruth Institute’s glance. Russia is below replacement fertility, and they are an aging people. The Ukraine poses a path for solving Russia’s population problems. Dr. Morse also discusses the “Global Ruling Class” and the elites and asks that we exercise caution when trying to identify them. Find out more by listening to her in her own words.
